What would THEY think of Fraggle Rock : Back To The Rock ?

There's people who enjoyed Fraggle Rock : Back To The Rock. Also all the creative / artistic hard work & effort of any production like this ( especially during the times of the pandemic ) is something to admire & appreciate as well as the advancement in puppetry filmmaking.

It's a reboot ( of a show that already had a general closure ) , " updated for modern times ". What does that exactly mean ? 

Is the original problematic ?

We live in an age of streaming services where sometimes the original & reboot / remakes are beside each other ironically. 

It's not mean to point out the facts that there's clearly differences between the two. It's called " artistic critique " ( probably more common among nostalgic fans who are the minority of fandom ).

The original had a strong political pacifism aspect to it as well as Jerry Juhl's humor. Back To The Rock is more gentle & the Fraggles talk in teenager slang ( among other things ).

Was the many changes necessary ? A change in modern times ( modern Democrat / Liberal ideology / Millennial & Generation Z " wokeness " )  or was it simply conforming to current demographic market research so it can " SELL " to modern audiences ( commodification ) or BOTH ?

In general, nostalgic fans prefer the quality of the originals ( & sometimes, other times ) which isn't present in the other stuff.

Even though Dave Goelz & Karen Prell returned as well as an episode written by Jocelyn Stevenson, still,

what would Jim Henson, Jerry Juhl, Richard Hunt & Jerry Nelson think ? Even though Frank Oz wasn't apart of Fraggle Rock, he has been outspoken about the changes of The Muppets ( & Sesame Street ) for 10 years now.

During the original 1989 - 1990 Henson / Disney deal , Jim Henson wanted them to understand the uniqueness of how he ran everything. 

Would Jim, Richard & the two Jerrys be as outspoken about current times today ?

15 years coming out as a Nonbinary Transgender Lesbian Woman ( Erica Crooks )

 

I've became aware of myself for 15 years total so far. I first came out as Androgyne in late 2007 / 2008 at a time where most people weren't aware of Nonbinary & today many people identify as Nonbinary. The internet was there for me in my self-growth and awareness journey. Becoming aware of myself but having trouble finding the right words & definition. So as a content creator , the other thing that I do is to help bring awareness about the very information that helped me with my self-growth , self-esteem / self-confident / self-love and helped me become more of me than ever before. However through out 2008 - 2013 , I knew I was attracted to female body masculinity ( Butch Lesbians ) and there was that feminine aspect of myself which I struggled to figured out what that meant until I came out as a Transgender Woman near the start of 2013. I was a Lesbian, just Transgender. I struggled looking at myself in the mirror smiling until after I came out.

At the same time, I know exactly how it feels to struggle if it's with my kind hearted mother in poverty surviving on disability income , diagnosed as Neurodivergent / Autism Spectrum / PTSD / ADD / ADHD / Depression / Social Anxiety / Anxiety related & being a victim of hate crime of all sorts all through my life online & offline. Including running away from an abusive, bigoted father & wicked step mother which my mother saved me from taking my life away. It cost me most of my belongings but it was either my stuff or my life, I choose life.

The Erica Crooks Show Proudly Celebrates 15 Years of LGBTQ+ Pride !

The satirical puppet / animated cartoon sketch comedy indie film show created by Nonbinary Androgynous Femme Transgender Lesbian Woman " Erica Crooks " has both spread LGBTQ+ awareness especially Nonbinary as well as satirize the bigotry of Transphobia, Homophobia, etc through out the show's history. The show even mirrored back fears of coming out of the closet and helped Erica Crooks come out of the closet first through " artistic expression ". Nonbinary characters have appeared on the show during the second season in 2007. And in 2008, a character who identified as Androgyne / Nonbinary debuted struggling to get people to understand them.

The Erica Crooks Show is much more than a sketch comedy show. It's a show that expresses true human emotions through the art of puppetry & cartoon animation. It's a show that always encouraged anyone to follow their heart, non-conform, and be their true selves. As well as have a satirical laugh at those negative authoritarian brainwashed serious people conformists who disagree because they don't matter !

In 2021, Erica Crooks directed the puppet short film ( featuring the cast of The Erica Crooks Show ) " Let The Show Go On... ( Regardless ) " which featured The Erica Crooks Show's known " Hand " characters who symbolized human like creatures who felt different from the world around them but always wanted to be accepted for who they are. They have been the earliest creation of the show as well as the artwork of Erica Crooks and reflects the heart, meaning & message of it all. YOU ARE NOT ALONE !

Liberty & Equality NOT Liberty vs Equality ( Anarchism )

 It shouldn't be Liberty against Equality or Equality against Liberty. It should be a balance of both. If we find that common ground despite our differences, know what we want Universally / Internationally & keep it simple, we can work towards that better future better than any sort of complicated scientific analysis, hatred of anyone and anything that is perceived as Anti-Science, etc. It needs to have the approach of Love & Peace, not Hate & Fear ! Besides, when we are calm, we can think clearly. Sure people can find practical usefulness in meditation but to be a closed minded conspiracist ranting about how anything that's not the Authoritarian Left / Old Left being evil agenda is clearly hate and fear mongering. And the idea that Revolution can't be non-violence and peaceful and anything THEY disagree with and THEY feel they are in the legit Hierarchical Authority to destroy and silence voices ? I DISAGREE COMPLETELY !

Sure we all want truth and we are tired of being lied to. We are tired and sick of all the suffering in the world, especially our own personal lives as apart of the masses. Yes there is anger regarding the injustice of it all. But once again, I personally don't think the Authoritarian Left is the correct direction. Capitalism remains a problem BUT it shouldn't be separated from Authoritarianism because without it, Capitalism doesn't exist. Many people are still unfortunately puzzled and confused when it comes to what Transgender rights mean. Many even expressed Transphobia out of their ignorance & fear due to misinformation.

Unfortunately people like J.K. Rowling would rather promote Authoritarian misinformation of hate & fear and enjoy their wealth than taking time to learn what they personally can relate to in their individual life experience.

Through out the history of comedy, Transphobia has unfortunately been around.
