Trans Awareness Week 2023

It's Transgender Awareness Week.

I am a queer non-binary transgender woman.

I am on the autism spectrum / neurodivergent.

I am an individual just like anyone else.

We are all different.

Being different isn't an indicator of who's good vs who's evil.

There's people in this world who are friendly ( some even misunderstood ) while others are bullies who don't care.

That has nothing to do with biological differences. That's about who has authoritarian hierarchical power over others vs those who are oppressed by such bullying.

Same goes with anyone who isn't Transgender. Transgender isn't the problem. It's only a difference and that is all.

To Hell with the hate ! Let's have peace instead and celebrate life together !

Of course, I am not denying the current problems in this world when it comes to literal hate crime, especially those caused by the far-right. I am not denying the problems of people not understanding us and siding with misinformation as truth. I am not denying the problems of economic inequality either.

Instead of people fearing Transgender people, perhaps they need to educate themselves about Transgender people with proper information.

It's " Coming Out Day ", and this year is an anniversary for me.

I've been out as "Non-Binary" for 15 years and "Transgender / Trans Woman" for 10 years.

And I'm still learning about the LGBTQ+ part of myself. I don't find it complicated at all. 

I think life is partially about learning about yourself as well as the world around you.

Life itself isn't one choice or the other, it's what one resinates with best. Always listen to your heart and soul. Never ever allow fear to stop you from being who you are.

Especially if you lived a life that deserved more happiness and peace.

And of course, it's not always easy. Hate crime happens all the time. :( IT SUCKS !

I'm not talking about censoring freedom of speech and expression,  I'm literally talking about bullying and WORSE !

A philosophy that I still believe is that despite biological / cultural differences, all people are equal because they just want a happy, peaceful and prosperous life.

It's often power over someone else's positive freedom that tends to be the root causes of problems philosophically for the most part.

15 years coming out as a Nonbinary Transgender Lesbian Woman ( Erica Crooks )

 

I've became aware of myself for 15 years total so far. I first came out as Androgyne in late 2007 / 2008 at a time where most people weren't aware of Nonbinary & today many people identify as Nonbinary. The internet was there for me in my self-growth and awareness journey. Becoming aware of myself but having trouble finding the right words & definition. So as a content creator , the other thing that I do is to help bring awareness about the very information that helped me with my self-growth , self-esteem / self-confident / self-love and helped me become more of me than ever before. However through out 2008 - 2013 , I knew I was attracted to female body masculinity ( Butch Lesbians ) and there was that feminine aspect of myself which I struggled to figured out what that meant until I came out as a Transgender Woman near the start of 2013. I was a Lesbian, just Transgender. I struggled looking at myself in the mirror smiling until after I came out.

At the same time, I know exactly how it feels to struggle if it's with my kind hearted mother in poverty surviving on disability income , diagnosed as Neurodivergent / Autism Spectrum / PTSD / ADD / ADHD / Depression / Social Anxiety / Anxiety related & being a victim of hate crime of all sorts all through my life online & offline. Including running away from an abusive, bigoted father & wicked step mother which my mother saved me from taking my life away. It cost me most of my belongings but it was either my stuff or my life, I choose life.

Rocko's Modern Life : Static Cling ( Netflix ) is going to be Transgender Friendly

Static Cling is coming out tomorrow and I found out that Rachel Bighead came out as Trans . As a Transgender Woman and a cartoon animator myself as well as a huge fan of Rocko's Modern Life , this is like a happy surprise to see one of my heroes become a trans ally like this. I can't think of anyone who did this so far. :) My favorite episodes ironically are I Have No Son and Wacky Deli , and I can relate to having a childhood relating to the authoritarian Bigheads and wanting to make a cartoon to humiliate them through satire. Perhaps it's a big close to home but I heard that Joe Murray worked with GLAAD so it sounds like it's going to be complimentary. So to the crew I say thank you for being Trans allies . :) _ Erica
